 Course Description

Employers across various industries are now incorporating seafarer's level of soft skills into their crewing decisions. The Soft, "non-technical skills" are increasingly important on board due to the rapidly changing workforce and automation of technical tasks. Additionally, maritime accident investigations indicate that a lack of soft skills and human error is the most common reason behind accidents at sea.

to cultural differences and dealing with them effectively

This course aims to develop your social skills as a seafarer to better deal with the tough job onboard by improved social interactions, both in private as well as in business life.

Module 4: Social Sensitivity: stresses the relevance of social sensitivity when dealing with others.
Module 5: Agreeableness: helps you to be friendly, kind and people-oriented.
